Sand Key: is made up of mostly gulf front condo buildings that were built between 1976 and 2000. Although there are a few townhomes and one street with single family homes...Sand Key has more of a residential feel than Clearwater Beach.
Separated from it's sister community by the Clearwater Pass and the Sand Key Bridge, only two hotels and one shopping plaza reside on Sand Key. If you want to feel the pulse of all that is going on...but would rather do so from your balcony than at your doorstep, then Sand Key might be the area for you. Most of the
buildings employ 24-hour manned security guards and while you might be within walking distance of The Shoppes on Sand Key or Sand Key Park, you will most likely get in your car to go eat, shop or enjoy area activities. However, although the beach in front of the condo buildings is public, there is nowhere for the public to park. This makes Sand Key and it's beach almost a private sanctuary for the residents. Area amenities include the Shoppes on Sand Key, the Clearwater Sailing Center, Sand Key Park.
